Blaupunkt is now shipping its Travel Pilot MP3 Edition, a portable GPS navigation system that tells you where you are, how to get where you want to go, and entertains you along the way.
The Blaupunkt Travel Pilot MP3 is a self-contained GPS navigation system that can be used in the car or as a portable system for hiking and other outdoor activities. It also has a powerful set of entertainment features, including JPEG image display and MP3 and WMA playback. The package includes a sophisticated Smart Cradle for integration with car audio equipment, charging the unit's six-hour LiON internal battery, and enabling additional capabilities such as GPS Dead-reckoning and turn-by-turn voice prompting through your car audio system. The unit can be easily removed for security or handheld use when the car is parked.
The Blaupunkt Travel Pilot MP3 Edition features a high quality 3.5-inch TFT touch screen monitor for clear and intuitive display and interaction with all functions. It provides both visual and audio directions to target destinations, with either traditional "birds-eye" 2-D or logical 3-D map displays. Additional functions include current speed limit, time and distance to a destination, destination targeting by address, street name, intersection, town, and zip code. It is also preprogrammed with thousands of points of interest (POI) such as hotels, gas stations, restaurants, airports, hospitals, parks, and more. It is capable of storing as many as 100 user entered addresses and remembers 30 previous destinations in its flash memory.
The TravelPilot MP3 Edition includes a powerful microprocessor and a full 2 GB of flash memory, including map data for the entire US and Canada already installed. The unit includes an SD card slot for accessing additional map data as well as MP3, WMA, or JPEG files for entertainment. When installed in the in-car Smart Cradle, MP3 and WMA Audio are played over the radio's auxiliary input, while the navigation voice is handled by the telephone line-in, so music playback is automatically muted when the navigation voice is engaged for properly equipped radios.- Integrated loudspeaker and GPS receiver
